Kareena Kapoor's birthday to be low-key affair

Despite loads to celebrate, looks like actress Kareena Kapoor’s birthday today will be a low-key affair. The actress along with beau actor Saif Ali Khan has postponed the big celebration to a later date due to Saif’s father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi’s ill health.

According to sources, the actor will be shooting for a brand commercial in the first half of the day and then spend the evening with her family. The family had apparently been making elaborate plans to celebrate her birthday with a lavish party to celebrate her recent success, they have postponed it for now.

“Concerned for Saif’s father, Bebo and Saif are both in no mood to party at present. They only hope for his full recovery. It’s a sensitive issue and the mood is naturally sombre,” added the insider.

Kareena says, “We are all really worried and hope that he gets well soon.” As for her birthday, she says, “It’s the people around me who make my birthdays special, so whether it’s a lavish bash or a quiet dinner, it’s just as special for me.”

Unlike several actors, Kareena reveals that getting a year older doesn’t worry her at all. “Heroines may have a short shelf life, but actresses don’t,” she smiles. “Besides, I’m not the kinds to chalk out plans for the future. I believe in ‘living the now’ and enjoying it to the fullest. And right now, I’m in a happy space professionally and personally,” adds.

So, what’s the birthday wish going to be? “I’m working with the best in the industry, be it actors or filmmakers and I have a great guy to come back home too. What else can I ask for?” she smiles. More hits? “Hits are always welcome, but for me my happiness also has much to do with my family and friends, so just wishing for happiness always,” she signs off.

Shah Rukh Khan wins hearts with his Chhammak Chhallo event

Shah Rukh Khan is pulling out all stops for his superhero GOne, making sure everything about the film and our Indian superhero is grand and different, starting with its music launch.

A star-studded stage, spectacular special effects and some non-stop foot-tapping music -  king Khan's 'chhammak chhallo' event that aired on national television on Sunday evening was certainly lot more than just a regular music launch of a film.

SRK's charm was all over the stage and when the king of romance is on the stage, "it's criminal" to let go off him without entertaining the audience with his undying charm.

The king was surrounded by not one or two, but lots and lots of 'chhammak chhallos' as he serenaded them in his inimitable style.

SRK's 'Chhammak Chhallo' event managed to flag off the Ra.One promotions on a high note. When it SRK, you do not need anything more.

Shahrukh Khan copies Batman?

The poster of Ra.One shockingly similar to that of Batman Begins. Do you think the Ra.One poster is copied? Leave your comments.

Ra.One apes Batman?

The creative heads of a lot of production houses in Bollywood can’t seem to come up with something original. The poster of Shahrukh Khan’s much-vaunted project Ra.One seems a rip-off of the poster of a Batman movie. Check out the similarities for yourself.

Deja vu creeps in again! A lot of Bollywood movies lately have blatantly copied posters from Hollywood films or movies from the world cinema. The most shocking obviously was the poster of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara copied from Lords of Dogtown.

Now, the newly released poster of Shahrukh Khan’s Ra.One bears a striking similarity to the poster of Christopher Nolan’s 2005 movie Batman Begins. In the poster, actor Christian Bale is seen holding an unconscious Katie Holmes in his arms. In Ra.One poster, Shahrukh Khan seen holding Kareena Kapoor in a similar pose.

Even the apocalyptic background and the light effects are similar.

Do you think the Ra.One poster is copied? Leave your comments.

Meanwhile, don’t forget to check out the posters of some recent Bollywood releases that were copied. You’ll see for yourself how ‘creative’ Bollywood folks are!

Rajinikanth and Shah Rukh together in 'Ra.One'?

New Delhi: Superstar Rajinikanth has agreed to do a cameo role in Shah Rukh Khan's much awaited film 'Ra.One'. If media reports are to be believed than Rajinikanth is going to shoot for the film on October 4, at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad.

The music of 'Ra.One' is already released and catching up fast with the audiences. International pop singer Akon has sung for the first time in any Indian film in 'Ra.One'.

'Ra.One' relies heavily on its big star cast that boasts of Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra. Now, superstar Rajinikanth's inclusion into the credit list will only add more charm to it.

This will be a double bonanza for Hindi film lovers, who will get to watch two superstars working together for the first time.

Shah Rukh Khan had earlier said that 'Ra.One' has a tribute for Rajinikanth.

This will also indicate the return of Rajinikanth to shooting, who has avoided shooting in recent times due to bad health.

The promos of 'Ra.One' shows a lot of similarities in between Rajinikanth's 'Robot' and Khan's 'Ra.One'.

“Ra.One, a step ahead for Bollywood”

The message of the Shah Rukh Khan film in the making is that “one should be careful before one makes a wish”

Hindi film industry is in for some bleak times. That is the prophecy of Bollywood idol Shah Rukh Khan who says over the next 10 years the audiences would not be eager to watch Hindi films.

Speaking on the sidelines of the audio release function of his sci-fi movie Ra.One, Mr. Khan said, “French, Polish, German and Italian cinema are already facing this situation as they have lost space to Hollywood. I am not taking on Hollywood. I want to ensure Indian kids and youngsters keep watching Indian films in future. My son doesn't find me cool enough. We cannot just keep talking about an Indian imprint. We have to ensure that the Indian kids are proud of Indian culture. Inception was a huge hit in the country.”

Mr. Khan, who is playing the character of the superhero called G.One in the film, asked why is it that every time the earth is in danger, an American superhero has to come to save us? “When I was a kid, I was a huge fan of ‘Bahadur' comics. Why can't we have our own heroes? Our mythology is full of superheroes.”

He said the film represented the new age evil. “We thought, in this age if a villain has to come, it will have to be through technology. So Ra.One is an embodiment of the 10 worst thoughts in this digital age. But the message is that one should be careful before one makes a wish.”

It was literally a “Chhammak Chhalo” night in Mumbai's Filmcity as the music of the much-awaited Diwali release was unveiled. It was released with the kind of razzmatazz no longer seen in Bollywood's music release functions and the highlight was the “Chhammak Chhalo” song sung by international hip-hop star Akon. “My son is a fan of his. I was surprised that he managed to sing the Hindi song with three hours of practice. This speaks volumes of the sheer size of the Indian audience. Everyone wants to woo them,” he said.

Asked about the criticism that he pressed the same buttons as an actor, Mr. Khan said, “Germans say every time I press some buttons, Indians cry! But the bigger challenge in Ra.One was physical. It was difficult to even breathe in the superhero suit.”

But the promotional campaign is highlighting the emotional content. Is he playing safe? “See at one level it is an Aziz Mirza kind of film. A hero, a villain and mother and kid trapped in between…sweet! But when it breaks into action it matches the best in the world. It may or may not work but it is definitely a step ahead for Bollywood.”

“You can't control emotions, you can't control storytelling but you can control technology. It is one thing where we could be at par with the world. I told my team — make a superhero film and make it count. There was a small company called H2O and I bought it for almost nothing. For six years the team worked on the films that I produced. And Ra.One is the team's big chance to prove its worth. For long our technicians have been contributing to Hollywood projects in a small way. Now it is time we give them a chance to create something big. Also, why should only small producers of offbeat films take chances, why should only producers who raise money on the Internet take a chance. I feel top producers should lead the way.”

One of the most expensive films in the industry, it is going to be released both in 2D and 3D. Versions dubbed in Tamil and Telugu will be released simultaneously. Mr. Khan said, “The film pays tributes to Rajini sir in one of the sequences.” Interestingly, Mr. Khan was the first choice of director Shankar for Robot but he opted out of the project after some creative differences.

Denying that he needed any controversy to create a hype around the film, Mr. Khan requested cinegoers to watch the film “with a clean heart as it has been made with a clean heart. For long we have had mother and son dramas. This time we have a film which is all about father and son.”

RA.One will make Rs 200 crore: Kareena

Bodyguard smashed many records, netting Rs 21.50 crore across India on its opening day, streaking way ahead of Ready (Rs 12.50 crore), 3 Idiots (2009, Rs 14 crore) and even Salman Khan’s last Eid blockbuster, Dabbang (2010, Rs 14.50 crore). As of Tuesday, the movie had netted Rs 128 crore across
India, with a worldwide gross of Rs 215 crore.

And its lead actor, Kareena Kapoor is thrilled. “I spoke to Salman in the US post his surgery. We congratulated each other on our huge success and he asked me how it felt to feature in the No 1 and No 2 films of the year. I wondered which was which and he said we’d chat about it once he got back,” chuckles the actor, who after 3 Idiots and Golmaal 3, is being touted as the Rs 100 crore heroine.

Kareena admits that after they picturised the romantic, Teri Meri Prem Kahani, she was confident that the film would be a monstrous hit. “But I wasn’t expecting my movies to be competing with each other in terms of box-office collections. It’s something I’ve dreamt of for years, worked hard towards, and today, have no time to enjoy because I’m so busy.”

The actor is now eyeing a bumper Diwali with Shah Rukh Khan’s RA.One. “If Bodyguard made Rs 100 crore, then RA.One will make Rs 200 crore,” asserts Kareena, who plays a sweet and simple Punjabi wife and mother.

She adds, “Shah Rukh has done something spectacular.” The film’s music released on Monday with a live concert and she’s overwhelmed by the craze Chamak Challo has generated. “Everyone was waiting to see the full track. My fans like me in a sari, so do I. And now that the Size zero chapter is out of my life forever, I have the curves to carry off the desi girl look to perfection.” Kareena is equally enthused about another song, O Dildara…: “It’s a typical love song and I’m romancing Shah Rukh Khan. Wow!”

Shah Rukh: Always wanted to play a superhero

After a three-hour wait, Shah Rukh Khan arrived in style to launch the music of his new film Ra.One, in Film City, Goregaon, a western suburb of Mumbai.

The superstar danced to Criminal, a song in Ra.One, and made quite a spectacular entry as he jumped from a suspended car.

SRK has dedicated the album to the late film-maker Yash Johar and to Bobby Chawla, the CEO of his company Red Chillies Entertainment and actress Juhi Chawla's brother, who has been in hospital and critically ill for the last couple of months.

"When we started our company Red Chillies Entertainment, one person helped me start it and gave me a lot of love, Yash Johar. I want to dedicate this album to him. And also to Bobby, who is so close to me and who can't be here today."

Shah Rukh Khan's 'Ra.One' goes digitally wrong

Shah Rukh Khan’sRa.One’ has been in many ‘digital’ troubles off late. First the songs got leaked on the internet, which may have happened due to mismanagement of properties in the core inside team, and because of having many handlers for same content on internet, viz. T-Series, Eros and Red Chillies' official digital properties.

The latest fiasco in the whole internet promotional strategy happens today, when the much touted Bollywood’s biggest music release on internet got delayed by about 2 hours. After the first announcement came from Ra.One’s official Facebook page about the LIVE streaming of the Music Launch event, much chaos was created amongst Shah Rukh Khan fans around the globe, as no proper information was given to them about the time or proper URL of the event.

And finally at around 4pm IST, YouTube started running a roughly made ad-video informing about the details of the event, which was hardly noticed. As of now the LIVE video link has received about 7,000 hits, and also doesn’t feature in Twitter/YouTube trends (Normally any big event associated with Shah Rukh Khan goes globally trending, at least India trending happens in 30 minutes). In India many people don’t really care about the delays, but as far as the brand of Shah Rukh Khan is considered, and the way his global fan following is, this all isn’t good.

It clearly shows how carelessly the whole internet promotional strategy is being planned and implemented.

The LIVE-streaming finally did not take place, and instead it was recorded & streamed after 2 hours of scheduled time, leaving many negative comments and a 'bad-mouthing' social media response globally.

The LIVE event was approximately watched by 20,000 people around the globe on YouTube, which is way behind the millions of views to similar LIVE-streamed events for My Name is Khan, 3 idiots and Kites in the past.

Chammak Challo? What's that, asks Aamir

Mr Perfectionist pleads ignorance about SRK's hit song
Everyone knows Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are not exactly friends. So, why did we get shocked when, at the music launch party of the film Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster in Mumbai on Saturday evening, Aamir pleaded ignorance about SRK’s hit song ‘Chammak Challo’ from his filmRa.One? “What is Chammak Challo? I haven’t seen it yet,” said Aamir, after which he ignored all information being given to him about the song by people gathered.

Guess it is shocking because Chammak Challo is all over the news, everyone is humming it and all the nightclubs, radio and music channels are playing it. Not just that, it features Aamir’s current heroine of the season Kareena Kapoor, who is shooting with him for Reema Kagti’s film and with whom he did the blockbuster film 3 Idiots last year. Surely, if not from anyone else, from Kareena he must have known about the song.

Interestingly, at this same event, when a media person asked Aamir about Salman Khan’s blockbuster Bodyguard, he waxed eloquent. “Salman is not behind me but in front of me. If there is anyone who is number one, that is Salman. Bodyguard has broken all records at the box office in the opening week. I am happy. I sent him a text about the revenue collected from the Bodyguard,” Aamir gushed. He even went on to say he would love to work with Salman in the future. “I would love to work with Salman but until we get a good script, we won’t work together,” he said. We just ‘Khan’ not understand what is going on here!

WATCH: Dildara - New song from RA.One

After creating waves with the item song Chammak Challo, Shah Rukh Khan has unveiled a romantic number from his forthcoming film Ra.One - Dildara. The actor who plays a sci-fi hero in the film posted on his twitter page, "dildara going live on raonmovie.com with dildara in a few minutes...hope u all like it."
The track, Dildara Dildara with a remixed version of hit classic Stand by Me, shows the love story of SRK-Kareena's characters in the film right from the proposal to giving birth to their kid.  It also for the first time gives a glimpse of the human side of SRK's superhero character, G.One.
Directed by Vishal-Shekhar, the song also features the E King's classic Stand by Me, for which SRK bought the rights.
The film is set to hit theatres Diwali this year.
Our take: While a soft, foot-tapping number, it's reminiscent of Tere Naina from My Name Is Khan, with SRK wooing his lady love. And has a very 'We Are family' feel to it.

Foreign singers: Did 'Chammak Challo' set a trend?

New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan's highly publicized film 'Ra.One' boasts of ultra modern robots and fine animation technique, in addition to Kareena Kapoor's foot tapping number 'Chammak Challo'.

International pop star Akon is coming to India with 'Chammak Challo'. The presence of Akon's name on the credit list makes the song a potential hit, and its catching up fast too. However, Akon is not the first big international star to feature in Hindi film industry.

The trend of foreign singers lending their voice to Indian numbers had started with stalwarts such as Mehdi Hasan and Ghulam Ali. They ruled the ghazal scenario in India for a long time, till Jagjit Singh, Chandan Das and some others made their entries.

Mehdi Hasan avoided playback singing, but Ghulam Ali accepted BR Chopra's request to sing in 'Nikaah'.

These two singers paved the way for many others to enter the broad Indian music market.

Reshma had become quite a sensation in Pakistan till 1981. Her credits included super popular tracks as 'dama dam mast kalandar' and 'ankhiyon ko rehne de', and thus she was approached by Subhash Ghai, who was looking for a haunting voice for 'Hero'.

The immensely successful song became the anthem of separated lovers and many other foreign singers booked their tickets for Mumbai, the film hub.

Several good voices, inspired by the vocal accomplishments of Reshma and Runa Laila appeared on the scene but none of them became the golden voice to look out for.

Then arrived one of the greatest singers of all time, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. The phenomenal success of his non commercial albums earned him the respect and place in the industry as the most sought after musician in Bollywood.

He hit the bull's eye with the film music too. 'Aur Pyar Ho Gaya', 'Kachche Dhaage', 'Kartoos', 'Bandit Queen', 'Dillagi' and 'Dhadkan', whatever he touched as singer or composer turned into gold.

Moderately popular Samantha Fox also came to India during mid 90's, on the invitation of Bappi Lahiri. She sang in the Govinda-starrer Rock Dancer, but the song and the film, both flopped. An era finished with the unexpected demise of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

The new epoch began in the new millennium and a whole new breed of NRI singers started to gain ascendance throughout the world.

Some of them decided to feature in Bollywood. Adnan Sami, the famous pianist, get all the right breaks and hogged the limelight initially but soon other singers such as Veronica, Rishi Rich, and Jay Sean sang to the tunes of Indian composers. Anu Malik directed them in 'Kya Kool Hai Hum'. Snoop Dogg sang for Akshay Kumar's 'Singh is King' as per the notes of music director Pritam.

Music maestro A.R. Rahman is also introducing Italian-Canadian singer Natalie Di Luccio in Imtiaz Ali's upcoming film 'Rockstar'. Rahman is known for his unusual choice of singers, and thus Natalie Di Luccio is sure to be noticed at least.

As far as the Indian film music industry and role of foreigners in it is concerned, Pakistanis dominated the scene.

Firstly, it was Strings, then Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and then Atif Aslam. These three associated with Adnan Sami hoisted the Pakistani flag higher than ever.

Now, when a singer of Akon's stature has landed, this might be another turning point for foreign singers' in India, as these international stars are constantly looking for new markets. The continuously emerging global market of India could be the platform they are searching for.

Chammak Challo from Ra.One gives bollywood a lesson!!

The rough version of Chammak Challo was leaked on internet few months back & It was an instant chart buster from the first day and from that day there had been many discussions over the Chammak Challo, Chammak Challo had been compared with the so called item songs like sheela, munni etc etc, but We were sure about the Chammak Challo and the content quality of a ShahRukh Khan starer movie and that too a Movie like Ra.One which is going to be a complete package of everything , be it for family, kids or young people. We were sure that ShahRukh Khan is going to give his audience a song(for now untill movie comes) which everyone can enjoy together and appreciate.

After watching 90sec of Chammak Challo, our believe in ShahRukh Khan and Quality of content have grown stronger and stronger, Chammak Challo is total khantastic (fantastic) & enjoyable with your dear & near once without switching channel.

Now coming back to the song, We know you have already watched this song many times but still here is the Chammak Challo

Chammak Challo is beautifully choreographed on south Indian theme, and Chammak Challo gives bollywood a lesson that you can make catchy song without showing nudity and using vulgar lyrics.

And most important thing Chammak Challo is not an bollywood Item number which is forcefully inserted in the movie. This song is very important part of the story of Ra.One.
